BIOGRAPHY
Giancarlo Boselli was born in Sermide (Mantua) on 24/07/1941 and currently lives in the village of Moglia in via Silvio Pellico 35/A, where he actually works. He studied at the Art Institute in Castelmassa in the province of Rovigo from 1951 to 1956, in the metals section, where he practiced in the work of chaser and typing (usually on copper, brass, iron).
Of necessity had to discontinue their studies and seek work, which does not stop him from doing work in his spare time chasing and embossing.
His working tools are chisels, awls and chisels, hammers and even a different ox horn. Slabs they take are of different thickness, copper, brass and silver. The support for the chasing is a piece of lead, arabic pitch (that used for cracks in the boat) or beeswax.
He works in the laboratory under his house, even fifteen hours a day. Terminated by re-polish finish with brushes and will be kept with liver of sulfur (found chemical diluted in water that is left to dry, then brush a clear coat).
Since 2000 he is also a sculptor in small and large works, lost wax castings in bronze and terra cotta in the oven.
